Healthy Recipe, My Way!! Choco-Lava Cake.

Hello my dear friends! Welcome to the "Healthy Recipe, My Way!!" section of my Blog. In this post I'm going to share the Choco-Lava Cake recipe I recently made on my B'Day. My facebook friends have already seen the pics of the cake, now it's time to look at the recipe. It is actually quite easy to make and perhaps the only challange lies in the formation of chocolate lava, it may dry up if you overbake it. Without much delay let's look at the recipe now. I saw it on a Reality Cookery Show recently, and successfully made it in the first go. I however baked a small portion first as the test- trial, and also to adjust the baking time, as (strangely) the time taken to bake may differ with each oven, and would advice you to do the same.
Ingredients:
  1. 2 cups- Refined flour or Maida
  2. 1 tsp- Baking Powder
  3. 3/4 tsp-Soda bi-carb
  4. 2 tbsp-Cocoa Pd
  5. 1 cup-Thick curd
  6. 3/4- Extra virgin Olive Oil
  7. 1cup-Milk
  8. 1 cup-Castor sugar
  9. 1/4 cup-Chocolate(chopped)
 Method:
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree C.
  • Sieve together flour, baking pd, soda bi-carb, cocoa pd. Double sieve them to trap more air and ensure even mixing.
  • Keep the mix aside.

  •  In a separate bowl whisk together olive oil, curd, sugar till the mix is frothy. See the pic above.
  • Add the flour mix to this mix in portions and gently mix them to avoid formation of lumps.
  • Add milk and gently toss the mix to form a smooth, thick, and flowing paste. See the next pic..

  • Pour the batter in a greased Muffin tray till it's half-filled, now spoon in a tspful of chopped dark cooking chocolate. See the pic..

MY SWITCH: I switched white butter in the original recipe with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
It's time to signout now. I'm planning to make these and Carrot-Almond Muffins along with Sugary snowballs for Christmas. Don't be disheartened, I'll share all the recipes before Christmas so you may try and enjoy all these delicacies too!! Thanks for visiting my Blog. I really appreciate and value your comments and feedback, so keep giving your feedback!! Have a great time!!
